Environmental Management Administration

The Environmental Management Administration (EMA) monitors the soil and groundwater quality in industrial zones by requiring relevant competent authorities to regularly submit soil and groundwater testing data. Environmental protection authorities review the submitted data and assess the quality of the soil and groundwater and in every January and June, publish the corresponding light signal classification for the soil and groundwater quality management of each industrial zone, reflecting the pollution management status of the zones, and enhancing soil and groundwater pollution control and preventive management in industrial areas. Through the EMA's " Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Website," the public can access the "Industrial Zone Light Signal Warning Management System" to query basic information and the current light signal classification status of industrial zones, understanding the environmental background and the soil and groundwater quality status in these areas.

The general public

To monitor the soil and groundwater quality in industrial zones, the relevant competent authorities regularly test the soil and groundwater quality and submit the data for review by environmental protection authorities, which periodically assess the submitted data and the quality of the soil and groundwater.

Based on the review of the regular test results and pollution control status, a light signal classification is assigned to each industrial zone. The "Industrial Zone Light Signal Classification Status Query" function is available for the public to check the light signal and view detailed information, offering insights into the environmental background and the soil and groundwater quality overview of the industrial zones, with the aim of "strengthening pollution prevention and management in industrial zones."
