In recent years, the use of artificial intelligence has become increasingly widespread within the government and in everyday life. Taiwan's local environmental protection agencies have developed a service application and management system for waste collection vehicles, which are installed with connectivity equipment such as GPS to facilitate the collection and provision of relevant open data. Meanwhile, the usage of such connectivity equipment and smart features are being reviewed for the enhancement of waste removal efficiency and performance.

The administration continues to strive for the enhancement of waste collection vehicles' safety and efficiency through means such as installing mobile vehicle-to-everything systems, advanced driving support equipment, and warning systems to improve driving and sanitary personnel's safety. The Internet-of-Things technology has been put to use; garbage trucks have been installed with multiple sensory cameras and active detectors of blind spots, combined with driving safety support systems and artificial intelligence reading. The equipment transmits GPS information back to the control center for better monitoring of vehicle status, ensuring personnel safety and speedy handling of rule violations or abnormal incidents. Through the collection of data, the equipment's impact on enhancing occupational safety and health, efficiency, and reduction of accident risks is evaluated.

The administration continues implementing nationwide waste collection vehicle digitalized management, while evaluating the possibility of integrating artificial intelligence systems image recognition technology with vehicles to enhance efficiency. The goal is to find applications for collected data and combine them with artificial intelligence development.

Meanwhile, the administration also encourages environmental protection agencies to promote open data and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations, visualizing data through the Artificial Intelligence of Things technology and sharing it with relevant authorities for timely decision-making. We will also further delve into demands of sanitation work to provide more added-value data application. Through continuous communication and joint participation and maximized added-value data application, the open data ecosystem will be further promoted.
