Remediation of Soil and Groundwater Pollution Sites

When the Environmental Management Administration and local environmental agencies conduct pollution investigations under the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") and identify pollutant concentrations exceeding established control standards, they implement site management measures. These measures aim to safeguard public health and promote the sustainable management of soil and groundwater resources.

Remediation and Control of Contaminated Sites

Site control measures are categorized into the following types: Sites Requiring Improvement within a Specified Period, Soil and Groundwater Pollution Control Sites, Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Sites, and Groundwater Pollution Restricted Use Restriction Zone . These classifications are designated for sites that pose risks to normal land use, public health, or the environment. Polluters are required to submit pollution improvement plans, which must be reviewed and approved by local environmental agencies before implementation.
