Public restrooms are an indispensable part of modern society, and important everyday infrastructure, and a symbol of progress. Especially in the post-COVID-19 era, with borders now open, government agencies are actively working to revive the domestic tourism economy. For travelers, when nature calls, the priority is finding a restroom. Public restrooms are a type of important public facility for both domestic and international travelers. The quality of public restrooms inevitably shapes foreign tourists' impressions of Taiwan.

To assist public restroom management entities in improving and optimizing facilities, environments, and services, subsidies are provided to upgrade outdated and insufficient public restrooms in central Taiwan counties and cities, promoting the installation of energy-saving, carbon-reduction smart devices, and creating user-friendly restroom environments. Additionally, construction quality is monitored through inspection processes to ensure that restrooms meet high standards, delivering aesthetically pleasing and functional public facilities.
