To maintain environmental quality in Taiwan, the administration's principal responsibilities are organized into five major categories: household waste management, environmental sanitation, environmental law enforcement, regional environmental governance, and soil and groundwater management. These responsibilities include operating and managing waste treatment facilities to ensure the proper treatment of waste; supervising and promoting the development of high-quality public restrooms to improve public access to restroom facilities; investigating and tracking environmental crimes to prevent environmental pollution risks; and preventing and remediating soil and groundwater contamination to safeguard Taiwan's land and water resources.
The administration continuously monitors and analyzes environmental conditions and emerging issues in Taiwan and actively implements corresponding response measures. Through international cooperation, it also engages in exchanges with environmental authorities and related organizations in other countries. These exchanges serve as references for refining policies and developing management measures, helping all parties work together toward a clean, safe, and sustainable future.
