Wei Wen-Yi
Division Chief Wei is a graduate of the National Taiwan Institute of Technology (now National Taiwan University of Science and Technology) Graduate School of Chemical Engineering. She has experience working as a process engineer at a sugar factory, where she promoted waste reduction. While serving at the Department of Water Quality Protection in EPA, she promoted industrial wastewater control policies, regulation amendments, water-purifying infrastructure such as artificial wetland and gravel-contact oxidation, and planned the pollution mediation for rivers. "River Water Quality Protection and Improvement Plan" received the 2010 National Sustainable Development Award. She promoted the project of recovery and utilization of livestock waste,which earned a nomination in the first Government Service Awards. She also promoted heavy metal total maximum loading(TML). While serving the Recycling Fund, she promoted policies including recycling care, recycling facility renew and installing, auditing, research and development, and the marine debris product Label. In 2021, she received recognition for being an excellent civil servant in promoting marine affairs. While serving the Department of Supervision Evaluation and Dispute Resolution, she promoted a net zero green lifestyle.
