Division Chief of Division of Environmental Enforcement
Hsu Cheng-Hsiung
Division Chief Hsu is a graduate of the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Graduate School of Information Management. During his 34 years of civil service, he has worked hard to promote environmental protection. In 2014, he was selected as the administration's model civil servant; in 2015, he won the award of excellence in the Executive Yuan's "Establishment Participation and System Suggestion Judgement Awards" in Sustainable Environment and Local Governance for leading the "Soil Pollution Rescue" program successfully for three years, investigating and penalizing organized crime in toxic wastewater dumping. In the same year, he broke through traditional thinking in law enforcement, planning and implementing the Changhua County Electroplating Industry By-Project Supervising Plan, effectively putting a stop to Changhua County's three irrigation systems and surrounding farmlands being polluted by intentional electroplating wastewater dumping by relevant operators. For this, his team earned the Judging Committee's Special Prize in the Examination Yuan's Civil Service Outstanding Contribution Award for Groups. In 2016 he was selected by the Executive Yuan as a model civil servant, and in 2019, due to his hard work in law enforcement leading to several breakthroughs in environmental crimes and major pollution cases, he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award in Anti-Environmental Crime in the first Golden Circle Awards.
